The internationally renowned electronic composer and visual artist Ryoji Ikeda has unveiled the first variation of his data-verse trilogy within the context of the 58th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, supported by the Swiss Haute Horlogerie manufacturer Audemars Piguet.
For the occasion, Audemars Piguet hosted an event dedicated to the artist, welcoming its guests in the intimate setting of the Torre dell’Arsenale Nord, Venice, during the Vernissage week of the Biennale Arte 2019. The celebration featured a live sonic performance by Ryoji Ikeda, offering guests the chance to experience another dimension of the artist’s work.
Since 2012, Audemars Piguet has fostered a creative dialogue between contemporary art and Haute Horlogerie, commissioning a variety of art projects. The Manufacturer is notably known in the art world for its Art Commission programme, which invites emerging and mid-career artists to investigate the themes of complexity and precision through large-scale artistic projects enlisting creative practice, complex mechanics, technology and science.
